Roger Altman, Evercore Partners Founder and CEO will be speaking about the long-term implications of the current financial crisis. Roger Altman is Chairman and CEO of Evercore Partners. Mr. Altman began his investment banking career at Lehman Brothers in 1974. Beginning in 1977, he served as Assistant Secretary of the U.S. Treasury for four years. He then returned to Lehman Brothers, later becoming co-head of overall investment banking. In 1987, Mr. Altman joined The Blackstone Group as Vice Chairman and head of the merger and acquisition advisory business. Beginning in January 1993, Mr. Altman returned to Washington to serve as Deputy Secretary of the U.S. Treasury for two years. In 1996, he formed Evercore Partners.

A 3-person panel of pioneers from the M&A and leveraged buyout industries will discuss how the culture of Wall Street has changed since the 1970s and how they coped and prospered as they adapted to rapid changes. It is an opportunity to learn from the experiences and insights of Wall Street veterans. The panel will answer questions from the audience following a general discussion moderated by Brett Cole, author of "M&A Titans,'' an upcoming book on the 11 pioneers of the merger industry.

The Finance Conference brings together high-profile panels and speakers to discuss the state of the financial world. Also features a career fair for first-year HBS students interested in summer internships and second year students looking for full-time opportunities.

The HBS Finance Club will provide mock interview sessions for first year students.
Throughout the year
Training sessions led by Training the Street (vendor that trains Wall Street banks) to help students learn the skills necessary for a successful banking career. Great way to prepare for interviews! Cost to Finance Club members will be highly subsidized.
